I’m sure giving “prior written permission” for every business with an EIDL means it would take god knows how long to refinance or sell anything, or in my case, move money between LLCs since it was my parent LLC that got the EIDL but it’s my subsidiary LLCs that own the properties that have sustained the economic injury.

@Shanequa...good question: it was actually through a local mortgage broker who operates as a subsidiary/franchise of Ark La Tex Financial Services - they have operations in a good chunk of the southeast and Texas, I believe.In general, I have always found the big banks to be more cumbersome to deal with and thus do not waste my time with them anymore.

@Aaron FrenkelMy partner and I are Canadian investors hunting our first US property - simply because we can buy 2-3 MFHs in much the US for the price of one here at home.As Canadians, it is a little easier for us to obtain conventional financing in the US (particularly through subsidiaries of Canadian banks), but after much learning and evaluation we are seriously considering financing at home as we can get better terms.Would financing at home be a possibility for you?

If a collector wishes to charge (collect from) a particular owner, unless the other owner is legally bound to share assets, like a marriage or subsidiary company, than the debt is only against the debtor's interest.
