The furnace issue probably is just a flame sensor ($4 or clean it with steel wool) Look at the LED error code when it happens.

First that by "spray foam insulation" you are referring to the application of closed cell, medium density foam and, second, by "normal" insulation you are referring to the more traditional fibreglass or mineral wool batt insulation.The first difference is in R/RSi factor of the insulation.
