It required new roofing supports by the city and a vented peak that allowed airflow through the encased gable on the existing roof (to picture this, when the gable over the carport was finished it matched up with the gable roof on the house so it looks like one continuous roof).

You want air flow and you dont want them to risk being flooded somehow.

Inadequate airflow through the evaporator coil can lead to this.
