that's sounds interesting. i was just curious and come over. where i live there is only ONE vendor, complete monopoly. a LOCAL no name service. not even comcast or verizon. so you might want to check. or you only have a choice of 2.

The customer support was able to help, but unfortunately, I learned very quickly that the T-mobile chip set that came with the base station was not reliable... so while the alarm system tested and was working OK... the signal was not good, so that it would go in and out, and essentially be useless.After a few days of screwing around, and troubleshooting every other possibility, Simplisafe decided to send me Verizon chip set.

I don't know how you can discontinue for some but not others probably need to talk to the cable company.For substitute service I am not sure about the satellite dish etc but our building has both cable and Verizon.

.- Verizon told me they could not set up their service under our LLC without signing us up for a commercial phone plan- which we definitely do not need (we only need local service). so I had to put that in my name.
