I am purchasing a duplex in New Rochelle, NY and while having an inspection completed yesterday we found this situation.

Sure, comparing towns that are roughly equal on social issues, and comparing properties that are of similar condition and size, the properties will generally become more affordable the further you travel from NYC.Generally New Rochelle will be a little more expensive than White PlainsWhite Plains > Elmsford/Sleepy Hollow > Peekskill > Poughkeepsie > etc. etc.Joe

I come from New Rochelle, NY in the high taxlands of Westchester County, New York, directly north of the Bronx. 

If you're willing to look far enough I am hearing good things about Bay Ridge in Brooklyn or if you go north Yonkers, New Rochelle etc.

But Mt Vernon and New Rochelle are looking decent right now.

I've also started looking at New Rochelle since there's a lot of investments going into the city and prices are still reasonable.  

Between June and October of last year we completed our first project which comprised of the complete renovation of a 2 family home in New Rochelle NY.

@John Farady okay thanks I'll look into it and I'm thinking of getting into real estate investing in the next 3 months and the market I'm investing is in New York more precisely Yonkers, White Plains, New Rochelle and the Bronx because I've been looking for jobs since 2013 after graduating high school and I need money I'm already like where in 2020 I need something.
