I'm not sure that there is a truly anonymous LLC in the US.I have not done the research for Jerz, but the typical LLC set up would be - set up LLC with registered agent - apply for EIN number for new LLC - get bank account using new EIN numberIf you make no other tax elections after the LLC then you will be a sole-proprietor.

Sometimes garage conversions require zoning approval, and depending on the city requirements, they may force you to have it inspected to ensure it's been done up to code.I would call the city and ask how to handle it - anonymously at first, to see what your options are. 

They are often used for estate planing, and in conjunction with an LLC, they might offer some anonymity or privacy protection (as they might remove your name from a county search on current deeds).

I also suggest a drive-by so they are not unpleasantly surprised by the neighborhood when they to the showing, and just keep on driving by anonymously as I wait outside.

You can create temporary roadblocks, but it's almost impossible to deal with the public anonymously anymore.Spend your time looking for good deals.
