Hi,I purchased a old home under FHA 203K and it was approved but I found out that the whole siding is wrapped in asbestos shingles and that the Radon level in the basement is 30 psi which makes it only 10 psi on the 1st floor.

Under no circumstances let them mount to the roof - they drill straight through the shingles and (if you're lucky) put a dab of silicone caulk on there to try to stop the water intrusion.

No buyer and no real estate agent during an initial showing is going to know that there are shingles or punctures in the roof, that there are higher than normal moisture levels signaling that it could be problems with a roof, that a deck is not up to today’s current code, that there are cracks found in the sewer scope, etc.

Have you interviewed with any major law firms yet through the school--are they hiring--or shrinking due to the economy--or only hiring people who fit a certain profile--meaning can you lock in a 6 figure job for 60 hours or less a week at a major firm, or is it going to be hang out a shingle and starve(???)

Plenty of tenants don't care if shingles are missing, or if the caulk has dried up, or the kitchen sink has a slow drip at the P trap.

If you’re just replacing the roof shingles and not doing any structural changes to the roof itself no permit is required.
