This could have been lessened had the government put CAFE standards on light trucks etc.After we toppled the Taliban in Afghanistan (a necessary war IMO), we should have used my idea to "spread democracy" in the middle east: Tax the heck out of SUVs, but if you own one, give you a tax credit to CRUSH it and buy something more sensible.

They're best for lower-middle class elderly people that have little savings because these people typically have a lot of equity built up in their home, but they don't earn as much in annual income (if they work at all).

At this point these folks tend to pay better because they've learned how to manage their money better and they know that they have to pay rent on time or they're going to be evicted.On the other hand... if I am renting in a middle/upper class area then I am very interested in a person's FICO score.

When in that position, build a smaller, middle-end home so that if other builders put together more expensive projects, you are the first to sell; and if they go slightly cheaper, you still have not put yourself at too great a risk.b.The other interesting dynamic at play here, is that the value of the homes rise during the later phases, while costs remain relatively stable.

Some areas just aren't good rental areas... maybe you could try looking in lower-middle class areas and/or multi unit properties instead.
