Sometimes city/village hires a private company to do e.g. pre-sale inspection for the city (some cities require that so that u obtain transfer stamps).

I would highly highly highly recommend that you or make sure the contractor you hire to perform foundations repairs (especially since it is a shared wall that will be repaired and/or modified) is designed with the details that will be used and make sure that it is stamped by a professional engineer.

On all the projects I've worked on, where full CAD plans and stamped engineering drawings have either been required, or helpful, I'm usually at 1-2 weeks of work on the plans, so 40-80 hours.Especially for new construction there are tons of floor plans available for little cost online.

.$20-$50/per signature...and you think a closing to buy might have 10 notary stamps...so that could be $500....and closings don't always happen on time, so rescheduling the date might not be easy.
