First - I think your accountant should be providing you recommendations for cost segregation companies.It it most likely, if he/she works with real estate investors, that he/she would have a couple to recommend.Second - There are two types of cost segregation studies.Type 1 - Conducted by an engineering firm where an engineer will inspect the property.

There seems to be a bit of hostility here from the contractors, and this was really just a question so I could better understand and more easily work with contractors.This question was for a first-time encounter with a new contractor not recommended to me by anyone I know.I am happy to give weekly checks for progress, purchase all materials upfront including all the fittings, nails, caulk, and whatever else the contractor chooses.

I cut off PMs that constantly try to find ways to add revenues by what I call trickery; selling some 3rd party service that they have contracted to all their clients, recommending small fixes turn into large one's,etc, make it difficult to get 2nd opinions.
