A 0% introductory interest credit card could be a good start - you wouldn't want to take the cash out of it to pay the contractor, but maybe you could work a deal with him where you pay him buy buying his supplies for another job.You could also talk to Home Depot or Lowes - I think both have favorable treatment of servicemen and women and they may be able to get you a low or no interest credit to get you started. 

A real estate women's group wants to start a list of good and bad contractors with the reasons why.

Women especially, immediately know as they pull in the drive if this is a possible home for them or not.

The problem you are having is a sense of entitlement and from my experience as a  PM the moment they (tenants) fill empowered  you’re going to have problems.

There are stories of people losing and getting ripped off and they're true, but that doesn't mean it will happen to everyone and this forum is about educating and empowering members.

When the governing authority can treat it like a hand up instead of a hand out it is a very empowering experience for all.

You better be able to pick up a human turd from off the living room floor,  Dispose of a mound of hundreds of used women's pads, Take an entire truck load of used baby diapers to the dump and then go to lunch.
