My background is in software development and web application development, so I know I can assist with technology related questions. 

Have a family friend coming in to town for a 6 week rotation and we’re not sure if we need to do a lease and background check.

I haven’t  actually run his background or credit yet but according to him everything else will check out well.

You can use Cozy or your state LL association for background checks, credit reports, and docs. including leases.

I’d reinforce what an eviction on his record will do to his ability to get subsequent rentals with all the background checks going on today.  

If your background is 100 flips and 50 buy & hold rentals, and that's what they are thinking of doing, then perhaps you have something to offer.

I only mention this for background info as I have a very deep knowledge base in finance and in all business sizes.

If you know the Madison area, that would be good to know in your post.My short background: I currently own 2 duplexes outside of Madison in a desirable suburb but it is also getting quite overpriced.
