It may, based on what your total financial condition looks like -- debt to income etc and if the rental is already being rented.If you are about to purchase a rental property in addition to a primary residence, is there some pressing need that warrants increasing cash outflow by moving from say a 30 year note on the primary mortgage to 15?

This was a substantial change and therefore warranted renegotiating the deal.On the other hand, making an offer on a house with curled shingles that are falling apart, then later saying you want to discount your offer after the home inspection because the inspector said the roof needs replacement is a waste of everybody's time.
