If it breaks I'm sure I'd fix it or get another used one, but if a tenant is unduly harsh and keeps breaking them, then they can buy their own.

I think the article's main thesis can be summarized in the following syllogism: (a) Poor people use more government resources than their tax contribution, (b) Illegal aliens are on average poor, (c) Therefore kick them out.Your assessment and use of the term syllogism seem overly harsh to me.
