I imagine it goes both ways, either people are thrilled by the ease of access or disturbed by the thought of the potential noise.

Coffee shop can work, or a local library, depending on whether you like having some noise around you. 

The problem was that once it was installed the lights made a very noticeable hum or buzzing noise.  

Every little thing you take for granted on a single family home job site from dropping a dumpster, getting materials delivered, parking, noise issues, etc is a bit harder with a condo.When you go to sell it you will have issues like financing approval, condo association approval of the buyer, and condo fees.  

And is it just me or did anyone else notice that @Andrew Davis is up at 5:30 AM grinding it out on BP!!

You may want to look into the rental rules and regulations for properties close to UF they had some strict codes regarding noise and what not not too long ago.

One time I noticed the HVAC blower was making noise and she didn't think it was bad enough to bother me about.  

That would not include any carpentry work needed for any drop ceiling or boxed in soffits for ducting.I have used high velocity system on ships, and they can be quite noisy, no idea about in a house, but I assume it would be the same (as generally velocity equals noise with air movement).On the contract side of things, I would only do one contract per contractor, listing each item that needs to be done and its costs.  

Upon talking with the neighbors you find out the police got called because the current home owners went in an maliciously trashed  the house and made a bunch of noise in doing so.
