Unbelievably, Crowdstreet is shocked that when millions of dollars are released with no escrow UNSECURED that these funds are subject to being stolen.  

She likely either stated the card was stolen or she stated she had moved out.

Be careful that they do not drop off envelopes full of cash, which can be stolen or a tenant can claim they left a certain amount but you find less in the envelope.4.

Even more so if they use a stolen Identity.

Lesson learned.Another rental property had the copper pipes stolen while it was vacant.

Releasing fees were annoying but not crazy.They were freshly rehabbed when I bought them and they came with a one year warranty so that has been in check.I did have a break in and stolen furnace(wtf), but it was most likely the tenant that just moved out.Most importantly, it was the inspiration and education to start doing this for myself.

I was doing a closing in Atlanta last year and was at the closing attornies office and asked why it was so hot.. ( my condenser units were stolen last night) and this was a nice part of Atlanta not the hood at all....We just don't have those issues by and large on the west coast.. but to be fair and balanced I did have my first unit stolen in Oregon last year..On a personal Note I lived at Silverado CC from 90 to 2001 and was and is one of the great places in the world to live..

.- Having the AC unit stolen during the vacancy wasn't fun either.
