Amex platinum has by far the best airport lounges far better than any domestic airlines lounge so for me that is worth the 400 a year for that card plus getting frequent flyer miles on virtually any airline a few years ago we used it to go first class from Hong kong to Phuket and did not burn a lot of miles.

So that 5% total fee for international VRBO bookings was more than the 3% fee that Airbnb charges, regardless of whether the guest is using a non-US credit card or not.I think the answer to the question of which platform costs hosts more, depends upon (1) which platform dominates the specific market, (2) how many months out of the year a unit is being listed and (3) is the listing's guests primarily domestic or international.
