This doesn't take into account selling assets, being hired occasionally for your expertise in your field, selling all that awesome art you created, inheritance, or finding all those gold coins in the crawl space of your trusty SFR.I believe the quickest way to this number is reducing expenses (although boosting your income is definitely a close second, and something we're all in this thing for right?).

The returns are not super but are incredibly recession proof while also being hypersensitive to inflation so an upturn in the economy generally has a heightened impact on food/commodity prices which can boost your return quickly in the near term.

Given the legal and moral risks that are obvious I don't see why you would take the risk unless you believe that the individual would default and you could end up with the property.

just listing off that i own X number of properties, in my mind is still just an ego boost..it's kind of like saying, "ya, i can bench 400 pounds", when people can aleady see you have a huge chest and python arms...it just boosts your own ego, and you know i'm not that guy!
