I have always liked the idea of AirBNB a room but just didnt think Huntsville attracted that kind of tourism.

It is my understanding that because if this, certain items, like cabinets and granite will be imported from different countries, such as Vietnam.

Portland is becoming a bigger tourism hub (Japan even has a Portland mascot) so short term rentals are hot.

It does seem that area is more of a vacation rental type location, and I definitely don't know the tourism or short term rental numbers enough to be comfortable in that jump just yet.

It's an economy that's dependent on tourism and gambling.

Also, there is a huge technology, gaming, music industry and tourism industry here. 

We are looking at buying in Cullowhee, NC where we went to college and feel that the tourism/attendance has been steadily increasing over the last few years.
