In high school I was a jock, played around and grades weren't a concern even in basic courses, my A's were in music and gym.

Last two times I was there, the music drowned out everything.

I switch off between music and podcast when I workout.I have my phone automatically update and download new episodes every night as they are posted.

Sitting quietly in the dark and taking stock of where we are is a lot harder - takes discipline.In music, we have notes and we have rests. 

Most of it was loud music by some DJ from their organization.

I've had the occasional call about loud music etc....but I've also seen (with my own eyes) two tenants become great neighbors and attend the neighborhood block party pitch in together with casserole dish in hand.  

They brought a boom box in and blared rap music at OUR work site.

Walking, moving things, dropping things, phone vibration, tv, music, etc I hear it all.

Alarms, activity, people showing up, lights on, music, dog, and secure doors and windows will do it.
