I don’t really know about the laws there because I don’t watch much Fox News but I also don’t think too many people buy property solely because of landlord/ tenant policy or petty theft laws and if they do they might want to reconsider that approach because the places with the least favorable landlord/ tenant laws are typically the places with the highest appreciation and best overall returns.
