You can look at a mobile home and see it as an easy rental with new carpet, trim and some paint but there are other bigger uglier expenses that can come up.Roof Replacement, soft floors (water damage) in kitchens and bathrooms- most floors are particle board, exterior door replacement (special order), underbelly insulation falling, bad hot water tanks with rotten floor underneath (real joy), bad windows (water again), bad bloated siding (water), water damaged base frame around perimeter of home, cracked tubs (special orders) and frozen pipes (Good luck finding a plumber to come work on a mobile home- they do not exist).

I suspect this will increase as the people who lost homes do not want to live in hotels and, as the high season approaches, the hotels will be less inclined to provide reduced rates to the fire victims.I hope no one from out of state decides to move to San Diego until this housing situation is stabilized.i wish all the fire victims the best and success finding replacement housing.

Combine that with rates that are near high for this century.  3 things could solve this 1) RE prices fall (that would be bad for me) 2) rents increase a lot without RE prices increasing similarly (this would be bad for tenants) 3) rates fall a lot.

I dont get wholesalers approaching me really on BP  I get the lenders like Chris is talking about and most of those are fake lenders trolling BP for victims.
