I know I have relatives who are super sensitive to mouse droppings and get serious asthma/allergies to any time of particulate in the air.

But as a roommate, if it would cause you to have your allergies going over time all the time, you are not required to accept this.So there is some leniency in the discrimination laws for roommates that don't exist for tenants. 

However, this cause one of the tenants to have to leave because she has bad allergies to dogs.

But if we were to get a duplex, we would also have to factor in information regarding tenants (allergies, small children, etc).

I took $1000 as a non-refundable pet deposit explicitly for replacement of carpet (due to wife's allergies). 

Hi Bijan,I don't think it will be much of an issue, the thing to consider it that any potential new tenants might also want to bring along their pets which might be an issue or they have dog allergies. 

I can’t accept cats due my own allergies and shared laundry facilities but these other sites may be helpful if you haven’t found a place.

Guests oftentimes have allergy issues with carpet and it looks dated.

Too many lawsuit complaints about mold, allergies, and asthma, landlords here won't even touch it, not to mention when the tenants sneaks a cat in and it pisses everywhere.
