Read a bunch of BiggerPockets book as part of a course I took by Derek Moneyberg called Real Estate Riches.I live in Tokyo and want to invest in the Japanese market despite the many difficulties involved in the market here (depreciation, shrinking population, etc, deflation, etc.)I think the best way for me to get started is to buy a property in Central Tokyo and house hack, I have probably between 50k-100k liquid that I can use, but I'd like to get financing for a bigger property if possible.

Apart from the low dividends, if you want to create a cash flow using stocks, the only way is to be a day trader.

@Joseph ODonovan I am not sure if you are aware but traders are smart and have started shorting using other put strategies which limits their losses.

Transaction costs and taxes are too high to trade RE as inventory. 

If you just want money to make money, learn to be a day trader so you never have to leave the computer screen. 

On the other hand, places like Whole Foods, Aldi's, and Trader Joe's are typically placed in better areas where residents have a higher median income than average.

See if you can trade rent for work.   

I was curious as to all your opinions of the sites that trade real estate... roof stock in particular.Do you think these deals lack potential, since they are constricted to regulation (say, only turn key - or limited work properties), or do you think they are a good way to get started in real estate...
