I thought that was good info from @Rick Bassett but I was a little confused by the conclusion that is was barely worth it when you consider the extra work.You didn't detail or even mention in your post how much extra work or what that entails.

@Valerie Bailey ask what the fee entails - 35% is high but depends how much they are doing for that 35% and what you are responsible for.

IE every thing but buying a rental house.and one of my main subjects was how to determine and buy in path of progress this is a prime example of what my talk entailed .. now I gave examples of what I personally did in OR CA and SC.but I will be on a plane to Racine in the next 90 days and spend some time there figuring it out.. this is a gold mine waiting to be opened..

They should be able to let you know right away how difficult that plan would be to get approved, and what the process would entail to seek approval.

Does anybody have any experience in selling oversea properties and what that entails bringing the money here to the U.S?

If you follow all the rules you will avoid any gain on the property you sold, remain invested in productive real estate, and receive the whatever tax benefits remain in owning a house after any tax reform is completed.This would entail many assumptions and an after tax cash flow analysis but I think the best and worse case scenarios would give you some comfort in making a decision. 

Safe typically entails little to no opportunity for loss.

One aspect I'm reading about is how notes are hard work, entail lots of phone calls, and feels like an being an administrative assistant, but it's unclear in what perspective that's painted.
