The cracks that happen may need to rest a few days after the building is leveled, or you may see cracks where you had cracks repaired.Remember, that your house didn't get that way in a day or a week, and it will be upset a bit when rushed.

If I were to see a property going on a Sheriff Sale in two months with an upset price of $7,000, could I call the owner (which is the city in this case) before the auction to pay the upset price and get the house.
