(for context, i grew up in the DMV and went to school at UMD...left the area to work in NYC and now SF where things are completely unaffordable..thus i want to build credit and generate cash flow asap..). also, how would a neighborhood like brooklyn compare with something like fort washington in PG county near the MGM and national harbor..?

I pay about $100 per sq for materials  and $70 per sq in labor (but my roofer is a bit rough around the edges and comes from Virginia to PG county) so he probably wouldn't be interested in going to baltimore for a job but that should give you an idea of price
