I say this, because we are in unprecedented times, and no one knows how things are going to play out- whether the U.S. economy gets Volcker'ed and interest rates get pushed into the teens (personally I don't think that will happen, this is just for illustration purposes) and eventually brings inflation down to the target 2% we were used to, or the Fed eases us into a new normal of 4% from here on out, the havoc it could potentially wreak on the economy in the process either way and the effects this will have on the investing landscape.
