I lived in the 5th ward for two years after college as it was affordable...my truck was vandalized every six months, and I was in the nice south of I-10 area.I own several rentals in the Houston and larger metro area now - none are in the 5th ward.

So today I got in my car with an almost empty gas tank, I put my eBay business on hold because I needed to burn a bridge where I had to go out there and find properties, not just "oh it would be nice to find a property or two" but I had to have a burning desire and I told myself, "I have no money in my account, my truck is almost on empty, but I will will find at least properties that I can work with, I have to."

We found through dates on papers and food boxes (that could be read) it had been empty since around the year 2000, and they just left the kitchen with all the food in it.
