I'm thinking of taking a week's vacation along the coast in a couple of weeks for my birthday/investment trip to do some field research.

Upon the date of your choosing - something like his 18th birthday, graduating from high school or college, or some other significant date, give your son that email address and password so that he can read all of those messages. 

If we know someone is coming in for a birthday, we are sure to put up some birthday decorations.
