Then WCI has something like 10-13% on painter, plumber, electrician, other average at 15-20%, carpenter at 35-50% and roofer at 80-120%.

The painters did not prep the drywall very well and they had some thin spots in the color. 

My recommendation is to hire a painter. 99% of them should be lead safe trained.

They will probably all have at least slightly different answers.For a painter, I usually supply paint but nothing else.

The roofer came back to fix the roof and fascia (which cost us nothing, since it was his fault) and our sheetrock and painters came in and fixed the kitchen for just a few bucks (they get a lot of work from us, and were happy to do us this favor).Other than that, we've had a few wobbly fans, a broken shower handle, a sliding glass door that didn't slide very well, a three-way switch that was installed improperly and a garage door opener that was malfunctioning.

Heck, I don't need to watch my painter roll walls.

Painting wise, my painter does a very neat but fast job, $20 per hour.

I ask because the painter we are using on the house in San Clemente uses Dunn Edwards so we let him use that, and  he recommended velvet finish.
