I know the concrete is 5-8" thick on another room, however where they were trenching for the toilet and shower drains, the concrete is about 1/2 inch thick...seriously half a freakin' inch.

Regarding their products or any one elses, you should never use a product under a 3mm if you are concerned about appearance because sub 3mm thickness will telegraph unevenness in the subfloor on glue down; under a 4 mm on floating floors of the actual material not including the pad.

Several companies make adjustable pier jacks that get left in place, we put them on 2' square by 4" thick concrete blocks we make out of 5000 PSI concrete.If you can't bring all of the low spots back up without raising the high spots you either have to wait a few months and raise it some more.

I live in a vacuum of my own thinking and I've got thick skin -- I'd rather find out now that I'm an idiot than a year layer and way off on my estimates on both cost and ability.And if you suspect maybe I'm CLOSE on the math, I'd love to understand how I can do this with real sweat equity and my own cash at a reasonable rate out here.

I had one floor that was so bad the carpets and padding had to be removed then I had to seal off the subfloor/plywood with BIN Primer then lay out a thick plastic sheeting then install new padding and carpet.If you dont neutralize the source of the odor every time the carpet gets wet or damp from humidity it will smell again.
