So if you feel that you must contribute, go down to your local shelter and contribute there.It's in my written criteria: I will not rent to anyone who tells me that their pet is an outdoor only pet.

Back when my parents bought thier first house (because it was impossible to rent with kids, all rental ads said: no pets no children), there were small starter houses on good size lots that were designed so that they could be added onto easily.

However, if you have a truly excellent single older adult, non-smoker, no pets, coming with little to no furniture, and he will be the only occupant, giving you a honking big damage deposit, plus he doesn't mind that you're gonna have it on the market while he's there, with showings, you might consider it.

@Mary J.Hate to be the one to tell you this, but the dark spot on the hardwood floor is very likely to be pet urine.
