South Lake is unique in that it has a mountain very close to most of the town, it has multiple casinos and multiple places/businesses focused on the lake in the summer.

its one thing for locals like yourself but if the best U can do is as described above its not a wealth builder on any level.. there just seems to be some irrational exuberance on these low end rentals  or should I say non appreciating assets with next to no cash flow.. just because they get into them with little cash or get a little back. your still tying up a very valuable loan slot.

He says he bought casinos for cash flow and invested in RE for appreciation.

He is about to buy 2 more buildings and recently quit his casino job.

@Michael Evans  well I bought that 4 acres on a lark.. and low and behold Graton Indians build the largest gaming casino in all of Northern CA right across the street from me.. bring in all the UTLS city zones me mixed use residential.. and if you know RP there is NO new construction literally NONE huge housing crisis.. so we are just going through planning at the moment..

We're also about halfway through the build of a 500mil+ casino & hotel in LaCenter (about 15 mins north of vancouver on 1-5) that will be sure to help drag more development from vancouver north.

Some of these developments are already on line (Circa Casino, Project Neon, Raiders Stadium, etc.).

I was one of the dummies that overpaid for a 3 bedroom Th near the now nice casino (I don't go).
