I'm a recent college grad looking to build a steady stream of passive income outside of my current job.  

Looking more towards triplexes and even considered buying a couple rental houses in a college town that I'm familiar with.

@Julian Joseph - probably lots of recent HS grads and others in college that could benefit greatly avoiding leaving college with a large student loan in the first place.What the heck happened? 

I was swept away by the illusion that if I maintained good grades and went to college it would put me in the best position and I would set myself up for the best successes of life.

Graduated college about a year ago, now I live in Akron (Highland Square, for anyone who knows the area) and I'm liking it.

We are closing on a college rental with more than 11% of the loan value in closing cost (conventional financing)…. this seems high - is anyone experiencing similar closing cost?

I was never told in grade school or college that it could be a problem.   

Can you imagine 4 kids at one time in college?

Went to college for architecture and have worked in my professional life as a building inspector, insurance underwriter, and actuary, and I lived in a 2-fam and had two more 2-fams in my hometown of Buffalo, NY, and sold those when I got a job offer and moved to New Orleans, LA. 

Keep in mind i will begin my first year in college to get into med school, but want to buy a four plex before next year.
