If they know and they are okay with that, that is one thing, if they don't know, that is very different and it requires a far different approach.Is the seller still involved?

Most home warranty policies would cover leaks.As far as what is acceptable, in my market (Milwaukee) nobody bats an eye on cast iron sewer pipes or clay tile sewer lateral.

I went to a development walkthrough event with them in Dover, NH recently and some of the people involved are in Maine.

Luckily today their water is no longer running probably because code enforcement got involved.  

Bottom line, there are three solutions to this problem and none of them involve him getting free rent or you being liable.

To attach the deficiency judgement to the primary residence, did you have to show some kind of conveyance or involvement of that property in the traceability of the funds, or was it just a blanket attachment to all assets?
