The problem with Costa Rica and Puerto Rico is that it is already an established tourism destination for surfing and I want to hit the best up and coming location so I can grow my real estate investments.... some good examples of well established surf destinations that were not "popular" and "surf tourist destinations" a decade ago is Nosara, Costa Rica and Rincon, Puerto Rico...

And since the Smoky Mountain area economy has been relying on the commerce of short term cabin rentals and tourism since the 60's, we feel pretty confident it would be one of the last municipalities to ever crack down on short term renting.  

Basing an STR on tourism or a large industry that uses traveling/temporary workers is a better idea.

It's more affordable and I think there is still enough tourism and business travel to make it profitable.

Tourism is up 12 % since last year, House Hunter International are just producing episode in Lake Atitlan.... if anybody interested in great investment opportunity will be happy to inform you..

What's missing is the promises of wealth pouring into the city; the job creation, lower taxes due to the coffers being full, increased tourism and of course, the housing boom. 

The media can and does latch onto a few negative items but the facts are that CA is breaking records for VC funding,  exports,  tourism and tech growth.  

I dont know how it will affect housing prices but we will loose a lot of our summer tourism.

And, there are $22B projects under construction, which will create thousands of additional jobs.A population growing at a sustainable rate (2.5% to 3%), limited land for expansion, and good-paying jobs will keep Las Vegas rents and prices increasing for the foreseeable future.Other factors will continue Las Vegas’ growth for the foreseeable future that I will not go into here.A question I frequently get concerns income reliability - the connection between jobs and tourism.
