If you wonder, have one of your female friends (not your wife) walk through the place and let you know what they notice.

Perhaps even provide a turnkey solution for the MENA investor, similar to what some companies are doing in Asia for the Asian investor.

I've had similar experiences at our local REIA meetings (both GAREIA and Atlanta REIA).The sales presentations aren't the point: The real value is in the networking.The next time you go to a REIA event, I propose you get there early (or stay late) to run into the "greybeards" (both male and female, btw) who are actually investing the way you want to.

Calling a female agent acting under supposed free will  a "poor lady",  and an investor making offers that the OP finds a waste of time a "schmuck".  

I think someone who is younger, or female (like it or not) might have a harder time investing in undesirable areas unless they had some muscle behind them.

There's a meeting next week and the guests are a panel of real estate investors/flippers.There's one in Reseda called the 'MegaMasterMind', I haven't attended any of there meetings but I know they are very active.There's a solid FIBI 'For Investors By Investors' in Pasadena and they always have amazing guests like Tony Alvarez.It might a little out of the way but Bill Tan's REIA is another solid one (it's called Los Angeles & Asian Real Estate Investors Meetup).
