Of course in this instance it means that your LLC has incorrectly been reported as a disregarded entity but that is another issue to talk to your accountant about on a future day.

I fyou make a single member LLC, at least at the Federal level it is considered a "disregarded entity" (unless you elect some other tax treatment) where the Federal IRS basically "ignores" your LLC for tax purposes and taxes you like a sole proprietorship.

Single member LLCs are disregarded so I think the anonymity and asset protection is there and the tax shield is passed through as desired.
