You:1) Get the line snaked, with the big root cutting saw2) Put copper poison down the drain, this will kill off the roots3) Repeat the poison every 6ish months4) If the roots come back, either repeat the snaking, or get ready to replace your sewer line5) If the line is broken or collapsed, then you'll need to replace or repair it regardless.

Anyway, my realtor didn't realize we were using the commercial person this time, sent the residential advisor the contract, and she said that condos are having a hard time getting fixed rate financing like I'm used to and prefer, due to the condo collapses in Florida... she can only offer me a balloon product.

Im sure tons of you have replaced your sewer line yourself.. hopefully.. lolbout to tackle this project myself and hopefully save several thousand dollars.. just wondering if anyone had any advise they'd like to share..property was build in approx. 1930's and I doubt any repiping has been done, line has collapsed and needs completely replacing according to the several plumbers ive recieved bid on.

In fact, I believe Brooklyn, and here in DC I know Petworth actually continued to rise during the housing collapse, because demand was a greater factor than the national economy.In DC in the outer areas, prices stagnate and rents stagnate and that is because in the outer areas there is tons of land for new construction.

We had to put in some expected repairs (electrical/plumbing) as well as very unexpected repairs (sewer line collapse/back up, emergency bathroom repairs including a new toilet/floor and subfloor/new fridge/new water heaterI think we spent 20k + that first year!
