I've thought about investing next to hospitals, as they tend to be undesirable to other buyers, but I'm not convinced that hospital workers want to live across the street from their work. 

That usually precludes houses that are near undesirable uses.

The election, by the way, is irrevocable and is not a no-brainer, it could create undesirable side effects.

To me, Chelsea and some parts of Everett are still pretty undesirable but their large MF inventory makes it hard for any investor to miss. 

If you purchase any of these units in undesirable areas I would make sure that a college is nearby or in the MidTown or Downtown area.  

I recently purchased a rental in an undesirable area.

If you feel like you have to settle for an undesirable area because of the high prices then maybe save up for another year.

If you raise the rent and they cannot afford it--they may move vs re-homing the cats (which is tough to do, emotionally and physically).Just my 2 cents.While I agree with Scott about some very undesirable dog breeds, I do NOT find cats to be good tenants. 

I will be actually heading over to Lincolnton today to pick up my lawn mower from a shop over that way so I would be happy to drive by the house and see if it doesn't have any other undesirable qualities that we can not see.

Clearly, this might be slightly higher than some very undesirable places but I am looking to be close to a subway line and not too far from manhattan.
