The wording from the inspection is "1st floor spiral stair to basement must be removed.  1st floor can be duplexed with code compliant stair. 

Nice summary , spot on , I was dying to find a way to expand the shower , there is no affordable way - the costs just spiral out

I give them a copy of my 30 or so page business plan spirally bound at Kinko's with a color cover.

This enabled people to walk from the kitchen to the back deck without having to go through the first floor bedroom.Did the same thing on the 2nd floor, so that people could walk up the spiral stairs and not have to pass through the 2nd floor bedroom.

This is recreating the same phenomenon happening here - inflated prices due to bidding wars, overvaluing properties and spiraling out of control - in those areas. 

Once the property gets tight and has to skimp on repairs, maintenance, marketing, etc. it ofter enters a death spiral that is very difficult to recover from. 

@David Kiesling, there are so MANY people in your exact situation, that it has created a vicious upward spiral of price / rent increases.  

None of us know how far this war will go, how long it will last, and whether it will spiral into World War 3.I do not mean to lessen in any way the seriousness of the invasion, but we all must face that it could have massive impacts on our investments and may present opportunities or dangers to our livelihood. 

It can quickly spiral out of control and be a tripping/fire hazard to the other tenants.
