Ohio has a specific statue which is pretty easy to understand which mandates specific information and administration on LC/CFD's.

You can review the state statues and get a better idea of the time line, after all you have 3 years to figure it out if the owner doesn't redeem before then.

I didn't fully understand the 20 year statue comment - was this loan never debt serviced?  

Have any of you that has borrowed money from a private investor ever heard of them requiring you to pay for a PPI insurance plan because of money laundering statues?

The license is needed if you surpass the exempt amount of loans made in a year which is often a state statue definition.  

A newbie investor purchased said loan and had attempted to collect the amounts due well after the loan passed statue of limitations.
