Cut the grass, trim that huge bush/tree in the front, put a couple flowers in pots near entry. 

Fresh flowers and a welcome gift are great touches that will lead to 5 star reviews.

Tenants are not fragile flowers requiring that landlords jump through hoops every time they call.

one thing I see here in Oregon these days is folks are taking out sod and replacing it with clover.. its gives a nice little white flower and U can mow it like a lawn and well my neighbor just put one in and now I want one LOL..  

Things just happen, I guess.After they moved out, it became apparent that their dogs had trashed the yard, literally destroying every scrap of grass and flower.
