I would expect your contractor may need a little more time to heal and assist with any family obligations. 

We see alot of partnerships creating relationship problems that take time to heal, if they ever do. 

So, right after 2007 the bottom fell out and it was really bad for what felt like forever, but within a decade the market so thoroughly "healed" that it was well above the pre-collapse heights.In the words of some ancient Chinese proverb, or @Brandon Turner, "the best time to plant a tree is 30 years ago. 

This was actually a pocket listing that needed to be bought quickly due to an ailing owner.Im not sure if you would want to look in the area but its a thought.One recommendation are calls to burned out landlords or owners who have held for 4-5 years in predominant residential rental communities and see if you can buy as a lease to own option or owner finance to get you in cheaply.

I’d rather dream and be hooked up to a machine for an hour that can supplement me with the adequate body and brain rejuvenation and healing that takes place during sleep.

No point to drag it out as the healing process can't truly start until the wound is sealed.
