And ensure you have a little nest egg on the side in case of any repair/maintenance issues as something always comes up.

Barring another Great Depression that shuts down the big banks or worse, I think having a big enough nest egg will allow weathering almost any storm.

So you have 10k and you view this as your nest egg to get started in flipping?

My only nest egg is about $60K in equity in my primary residence.

We did pretty well on that one too, we purchased it for 60,000 and soon after, it burned down due to some nesting in the fireplace.

But, here in Texas we have Series LLCs, which means I can have multiple LLCs nested within a parent.

Unfortunately, I found bees nests. 

The husband maybe read Rich Dad Poor Dad and wants a multifam, but wife wants to nest and have space... wife usually wins. 

When she gets her orders, I will liquidate the two properties we own together and payoff the mortgages and she will hopefully have a bigger nest egg to purchase something state side at her new duty station, 3-4 years down the road.
