I have been binging BP money while I drive around for work.

You don't need to be larger than life, driving flashy cars, or using your looks to make a sale.

Happens just about every year in the Southeast with hurricanes- I usually spend the day after the storm driving around taking pics or coordinating inspections of properties so that my borrowers can close.  

Some, like the last one we got in place, used a drive by estimate of value rather than a full interior appraisal.  

They see a 60-year-old man driving a new Corvette and don't realize that guy drove the same Honda Accord for 20 years while saving and investing.

However, I live close-by (30 minute drive), recently retired from my day-job, and if the loan is not too large, I might be willing to do a deal just to learn a bit more about another side of RE.  

You'll need to really look at yourself and understand what you do well and enjoy, at the end of the day if you enjoy what you do you'll have more drive be successful everyday. 

Having watched many prior co-workers get paid, cash their check at the casino, and promptly deposit it all into a slot machine I can tell you with pretty good certainty that casinos don't have a positive effect on disposable income and good use of the existing income in the area surrounding :)Are there solid local employers OTHER than the casino in a 15-minute drive? 

How many weekends do you want to drive up north to find, purchase, setup and maintain an STR?
