Mitch, the carpet idea makes sense. i was thinking about that, but we tell them that we dont want people to walk on the carpet, that's why it's not changed. we tell them about it, just like that, that we dont want people to mess it up, and they nod in agreement and say "it makes sense"..it looks good, just has odor to it. maybe i can just change it and put plastic where people can walk on it.there's no space for a dishwasher.. it's not a large kitchen, not much of an option, in my opinion. maybe that's a drawback (but can't be the reason with the singles)here's the link, take a look at the pictures - http://onpointrentals.com/index.php?

.- New sub floors in Kitchens where needed , and then Linoleum floors in kitchen- Total Cleanout 3-4 Roll Off Dumpsters for left behind junk- Linoleum in pantry 4x8- 2 Bathrooms - Needs new linoleum and 1 needs Sub floor- Bathroom walls - rip off old plastic tile in one and make drywall and paint - Ba 2 Needs Rip off wall paper and skim and paint2 - Living room Kitchen & (2) Dining Room and 3 (6)Bed rooms Refinish Hardwood floors on ea floor so x22- Living rooms, kitchen and dining rooms, remove wall paper and skim coat, and paint all walls and ceilings2 - Living Rooms and windows remove all trim and replace with new and paint ( lead Paint )2 - Repair Bathroom Ceilings and Pantry Ceilings and then paint6 Bedrooms Fix Drywall, paint walls and ceilings2 Bathrooms install bathtub wall panels2 - Install Kitchen Cabinets , and countertops, and Sink in both pantrys2- Install Dishwashers including pipe, drains and elec in two pantries2 - Over stove - More cabinets in Kitchen @ 6 ft top and bottom with countertops2 Install washer and dryer hookups after bringing power to locationApprox 150-200 ft of Asbestos removal in basementalso what is the lead time to do all this..?

Get a termite inspection during your purchase process so you know what issues are there and can handle them during your rehab.Since you are, where you are and the problem is only in one spot (as indictaed by your post) use plastic to seal off the kitchen, chip up the tiles, replace the bad wood beams in teh subfloor, and replace the tiles.

At Staples, they are cheap to buy, maybe a buck or two, and they have a clip to attach to either a collar or shirt pocket, with transparent plastic surrounding the name inserted on paper; Staples also sells ones that have an elastic lanyard to be worn around the neck.

Then close the window up temporarily with some plastic sheeting or something else while you wait for your contractor/handyman to come in to repair.It sounds like you may want to talk to property management so you can have a professional worry about issues like this in a manner to best protect you and your interests.

But they are real pipes, the drain form the dishwasher to the garbage disposal is a very flimsy looking plastic tube, so I thought that might freeze more easily then the copper that feeds my sink.Good question though.

Sometimes the failure has nothing to do with any components within the heating system itself; I had a failure caused by an empty plastic grocery bag getting sucked into the opening on the air intake on a furnace on a windy day - no air for combustion causes unit to not fire up.
