here is the problem....loan modification vs foreclosure deadline...my neice is in the foreclosure process and the foreclosure deadline is 1/29/09...does she need to becareful with this deadline (today) if she is within the loan modification process. thank-you for your precious time in this matter....i was just told that they did infact, extend the foreclosure deadline to 2/11/09....HOWEVER, i would still like to know what that answer would have been. would she have been protected by the loan modification process.

He use to offer note buying as a way of selling homes with owner financing, but I don't think that is the case anymore with the tight financial market.

So to explain more fully what happened: I sent an offer on this foreclosed property without a deadline (probably a mistake, but my real estate agent advised me not to give a deadline since we are dealing with a bank and they have their own procedures, etc.).

The fact that many agents are not willing to do this does not mean it is wrong for the buyer to ask and does not mean that there are not agents out there more than willing to do this and be more "creative".If the deal is so tight that a buyer needs the 1/2 of the commission for closing costs, then of course it is not a good deal.
