Insulation between the beams and thicker sound proof drywall.Also if the floor upstairs is creaking, consider screwing the subfloor down, this can help a lot

Not sure if you are up for some remodeling, but when the upstairs unit became vacant, the entire flooring was removed down to the pieces of wood resting on the beams.
